I support our soldiers out in Iraq and Afghanistan (if not the war itself), but if even .0001% of the military's budget for this year were spent on the Arts, it would make the current NEA contributions look like chump change.

Someone (I'm ashamed to say that I can't recall who it was) posted recently that the gov't cut $50 million from the NEA budget in the 2008 budget and that it was allocated towards the military. What good is another $50 mil gonna do for the military? Buy one tank that's gonna get blown up by a $50 IED? No thanks.

Give me Shakespeare.
